INGREDIENTS

  • 2 sticks of unsalted butter  (room temperature)
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 4 ounces SoChatti Chocolate

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1. Place your room temperature butter, sugar, milk, vanilla, and egg in the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix until combined.

Step 2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl and whisk together to combine. Add the flour mixture to the bowl with the butter and mix until just combined. Remove the bowl from the stand mixer and cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour. ( This will make the dough easier to handle when rolling out to cut cookies from)

Step 3. Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment or a silpat.

Step 4. Remove half of the chilled dough from the bowl onto a lightly floured surface. Roll the dough out to about 1/6 inch thickness. Use your desired cookie cutters and then place on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 5. Bake for 6 to 9 minutes depending on the size of the cookies. Bake until they are firm and slightly golden, but not brown.

Step 6. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes. Then place the cookies directly onto a cooling rack to finish cooling.

Step 7. Decorate your sugar cookies with a drizzle or SoChatti chocolate for the easiest method. Or place a small amount of the chocolate into a bowl and dip a corner of your cookie into the chocolate. Let the excess chocolate drip off and the chocolate covered cookie onto a parchment covered baking sheet. Decorate the chocolate with a dash of sprinkle for a little color if desired and enjoy!
