PALMIER COOKIES DRIZZLED WITH CHOCOLATE

PALMIER COOKIES DRIZZLED WITH CHOCOLATE

Looking for a quick and easy recipe to show off your newest SoChatti batch? Palmier cookies are a great solution. With just three ingredients, you can prepare this sweet treat with ease while keeping the SoChatti experience front and center.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 package puff pastry (2 sheets)
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • SoChatti chocolate

Instructions

Step 1. Thaw the puff pastry for 30 to 45 minutes on the counter covered until you are able to open the pastry without breaking it.

Step 2. Sprinkle your countertop with a ¼ cup of the sugar.  Place your thawed puff pastry on the sugared surface.  Sprinkle the ¼ cup of sugar (half of the sugar is used per pastry sheet) onto the pastry.  Roll the sugar into the pastry until the sugar is pressed into well on both sides and the pastry.

Step 3. Roll the pastry out to 16 x 20 inches. Then starting with the long side roll the pastry tightly to the center, then do the same on the other side.  The pastry should now look like two logs rolled up to meet in the middle.

Step 4. Cover and freeze the pastry log for 25 minutes. Place on a cutting board and slice ¼ inch slices and place directly onto a metal sheet pan 3 inches apart. (Do not use parchment or a no-stick pad).

Step 5. Cover the cookies and place back into the freezer for 15 minutes. Warm your oven to 425 degrees.

Step 6. Place the partially frozen cookies into the oven and bake for 3 to 4 minutes (until golden brown color) then flip the cookies and bake another 2 to 4 minutes until done.

Step 7: Remove from pan and place on a cooling rack. Cookies are best if eaten the same day.

Step 8. Enjoy you Palmier’s with a dip or drizzle of your favorite SoChatti chocolate.
